Additional Info About Our Church

WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT PEOPLE. Our ministry is people oriented. We welcome everyone. We celebrate diversity. We're a church of all shapes, sizes and colors. We're an authentic community of caring believers whose heart is to love people and help them mature spiritually. Our desire is to grow people who will follow the Lord Jesus and be led by His Spirit in bringing hope, change and peace through the message of God's grace.

WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD. Our worship is always Christ centered. Our desire is that everyone who gathers with us experiences a life-changing encounter with the Living God. In these last days, God has promised to pour His Spirit out on all people (Acts 2:17-18) and we want you to personally know the fulfilment of that promise. We live by the firm conviction, "Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit" says the LORD Almighty (Zec.4:6).

WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT PREACHING. Our teaching is Bible based. We possess great confidence in the Word of God to affect change in the lives of people. The gospel is "the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes" (Rom.1:16). It is the truth that sets us free and His Word is the authoritative truth; therefore, preaching is indispensable to the Christian faith. You'll find the preaching/teaching at New Life to provide more than information and inspiration, it unleashes transformation.

Mission:

Our philosophy of ministry is based on the Great Commandments and the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.

THE GREAT COMMANDMENTS: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength...Love your neighbor as yourself." (Mark 12:30-31)

THE GREAT COMMISSION: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20)

Simply put, we are committed to: Love God (worship and discipleship); Love People (connect and serve); Pass It On (evangelism and missions)

What does that mean for me? There are three steps that every believer at New Life needs to take: Worship (attend weekly worship service in person or via online sermons); Connect (get involved with a connect group, small group or Sunday School); Serve (use your gifts and talents in ministry to God and others)

Vision:

The Bible - The sole basis for our belief is the Bible, which is uniquely inspired, without error, and the final authority on all matters on which it speaks. As the Bible teaches, there is one God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - each possessing all the attributes of deity. (Psm. 12:6; 119:105, 160; Prov. 30:5; 2Tim.1:13; 3:16; 2Pet.1:20-21)

God - is the creator and ruler of the universe. He created humans to have fellowship with Him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way. As a result, we need God's saving grace to end our alienation from Him. Salvation comes only through God's grace - not human effort - and must be received personally by repentance and faith. (Gen.1:1, 26-27; Psm. 90:2; Matt. 28:19; 2Cor. 13:14; 1Pet.1:2)

Jesus Christ - second Person of the Trinity, co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus entered the world through a virgin birth. He lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. This accomplished salvation for all who receive grace by trusting in Him alone. He rose from the dead and is the only mediator between us and God. He baptizes believers in the Holy Spirit. He will return to earth to consumate history. (Isa.9:6; Matt.1:22-23; Jn.1:1-5; 14:10-30; Acts1:8-11; 2:1-4, 16-18; Rm.1:1-3; 1Cor.15:3-4; 1Tim.6:14-15; Titus 2:13; Heb.4:14-15)

The Holy Spirit - is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He also lives within every follower of Jesus Christ from the moment of salvation. He provides the believer with power for living, understanding spiritual truth, guidance for doing what is right and boldness to be a witness for Christ. His gifts are relevant, operative and to be welcomed in the church of today. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily. (Jn.14:16-17; 16:7-13; Acts1:8; 2:1-4; 1Cor.2:12; 3:16; 12:1,7-11; 2Cor.3:17; Gal.5:25; Eph.1:13; 5:18)

Salvation - is a gift from God to each one of us. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can one be saved from sin's penalty of eternal death. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into their life by faith. (Jn.1:12; 14:6; Rm.5:1; 6:23; Gal.3:26; Eph.2:8-9; Titus3:5)

Church - exists to glorify God and make Him known in all the earth. This is accomplished by focusing on worship of God, connecting with the church regularly, growing in maturity daily, serving people unselfishly and sharing our faith effectively. We practice believer's baptism by immersion and regularly celebrate Holy Communion. (Eph.1:22; 2:19-22; Heb.12:23; Jn.17:11, 20-23; Mt.28:18-19; Acts8:36-38; ICor.11:23-26)

Purpose:

Salvation
