Additional Information About Our Church
|
Our church began in 1980 as a home Bible study in Grand Terrace. Led by Steve Mason, the study quickly outgrew his home, and an old school auditorium was rented for Sunday morning services. The dream was to build a church that would speak the language of today's culture, as well as encourage people who are far from God to investigate Christianity at their own pace.
We are a non-denominational church built on the foundation of Jesus Christ. We may use contemporary means to communicate God's Word for today's culture, but our message is as old as the Bible itself. We embrace historic Christian teaching on all doctrines emphasizing Jesus Christ's death and salvation through repentance and faith, as a work of divine grace. Two primary values we hold are those of balance and reality. We are seeking to experience real love and the true power of God in a way that fundamentally changes our lives from the inside out - transforming people who can be effectively used by God to accomplish His eternal purpose.
We believe that the Bible is the God-breathed, infallible Word of God; the only reliable standard for our faith. We believe in the Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, three distinct persons, yet absolutely one. We believe in the person of Jesus Christ: the uncreated Creator of all things. We believe the substitutionary death of Jesus and His shed blood are the all-sufficient payment for our sins. We believe that salvation is obtained solely by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that Christians receive the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit at salvation. We believe in the future and physical return of Jesus Christ.
