Additional Info About Our Church

Why Are We Called Prism Church? A "Prism" is the vehicle through which light passes to produce the beauty and colors of the spectrum. We desire to be a community that is alive to the glory of God in all of its manifold brilliance. As Psalm 19 teaches, "The heavens declare the glory of God ... The law of the LORD is perfect." (Psalm 19:1,7) The symbol of the prism is a continual reminder of how our God has revealed Himself to us through Jesus, the light of the world. Our desire is to be a church through which He shines through brilliantly and beautifully.

Mission:

Prism Church exists to Revive Believers, Reach Friends and Renew Culture for the glory of Jesus Christ.

Vision:

There is a spiritual thirst running deep in our community. We want to be another source of life giving hope to others - especially those who've not been to church in some time. We want to revive thirsty souls by giving them the refreshing living water that Jesus offers (John 4:14). At Prism Church the gospel of free grace is our life. Each week we eagerly gather to have our proverbial buckets refilled.

Purpose:

Jesus came to offer salvation not to just one privileged people group, but rather the gospel is the hope of the entire world. The colors of the spectrum represent for us the wonderful tapestry of different cultures and peoples, and the unity that we all find in Christ. (Matthew 24:14; Colossians 1:6, 23; Revelation 7:9) Finally, "PRISM" forms an acronym that dictated to us the areas where we are first focusing our mission efforts: "Pasadena, ARcadia, and Sierra Madre." While our long term mission efforts include planting churches around L.A.'s San Gabriel Valley--and wherever else the Lord might lead--we are going to begin by serving as missionaries right here at home.
