Additional Info About Guts Church
|
Our pastors, Bill and Sandy Scheer, have been married 25 years and been in public ministry for 20. Their three children are Taylor, 23, Brooklyn, 20, and Kennedy, who is 13. Their love and commitment for reaching Tulsa and multiplying the vision of there being no unreachable people is evident in everything their lives are about.
In December 1992, Guts Church was pioneered in an old warehouse, in the heart of Tulsa, with 8 people. The main church service for the first 10 years was Sunday night. This Sunday night service was an extraordinary experience, as people began to assemble who wouldn't think of attending church, much less making it a priority in their lives.
Now, with services and programs throughout the week, thousands call Guts Church home and tens of thousands have made Jesus the Lord of their lives. The elders, leaders, and staff of this unconventional church make up one of the most incredible teams on earth. Everything about this church sets it apart from everything else. The compelling thought of the leadership is "how can we reach and help people with the incomparable message of hope through Jesus?"
