Additional Info About Our Church

Following Jesus. Being Good News. Making Disciples.

Mission:

Jesus said that he came to give us life to the full (John 10:10), to serve (Mark 10:45), and to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). By following Jesus we receive life to the full; by serving others, we are able to actually be good news; and by making disciples, we seek and save the lost. It is the mission of Cornerstone Church to follow Jesus in his teaching and his way of living, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God, and participating with God in the redemptive work of restoring all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.

Vision:

In order to effectively fulfill our mission, it is important to be growing in intimacy with God, community with each other, and influence in our surrounding world. The 'one another' Scriptures are designed to help us grow in these important areas because we believe sustained spiritual growth happens best in close spiritual relationships. Ultimately, our interactions with other Christians should point us back to the Word of God and encourage us to live Spirit-led lives. Our vision is that our congregation will consist of a network of care for our members and an engine of good works in the larger community. We envision ourselves being an ever-expanding community of Jesus followers from all over Gwinnett County and the surrounding areas.

Purpose:

We believe that loving God and others are our top priority: when asked what the greatest command is, Jesus replied, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." This is the first and greatest commandment and the second is like it: "Love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:37-39)
