Additional Info About Our Church
The Cross is what we are all about. It is all about Jesus and what he did for us on the cross. Without the cross, there is no hope and no salvation or forgiveness of our sins. Everything we do points people toward the cross (and just past that to the victorious resurrection)!
The Way is Jesus. He said that he is the way and the truth and the life (John 14:6). There is only ONE way and that is Jesus, so we are CrossWAY (not crosswayS). Additionally, the early church was known as 'The Way.' Luke is clear in the book of Acts that the early Christians called themselves "the Way" (see Acts 9:1; 18:25-26; 19:9, 23; 22:4; 24:14, 22). In Hebrews 10:20, we learn Jesus has opened a new and living way for all believers.
Mission:
We believe Scriptures are infallibly inspired by God and the source of absolute truth. We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of the Living God, eternally a part of the Godhead. He is coming back again to judge the living and the dead. We believe the Church is set apart from the rest of the world and is to share the hope of the Gospel with all the world. We are unapologetically Christian. Yes, we are a Brethren Church, but ultimately we are Christian first. There are clear and distinctive characteristics of our faith that sets us apart from all other religions and world systems. We seek to live in accord with the teaching of the Bible in its entirety and the teachings of Jesus.
Vision:
We are a Fellowship. We love each other and love doing life together. We all have our quirks, differences, talents, skills, and gifts that bring us together, compliment each other and give us hope. We need each other and are blessed to be a church family. We love people wherever they are in life and are not judgemental as we remember that we too are being perfected by God. Yet we also love others enough not to leave them where they are in life but seek to help others grow in their faith and relationship with Christ Jesus.
Purpose:
We enjoy doing life together in big and small groups and believe we all have something to learn from each other in our walk with Jesus.
