Additional Info About Our Church
Love Joy Ministries, was organized in September 1995, when the Lord spoke to Elder Willie Walker Jr., telling him to start his own ministry and start it in a hurry. With no congregation to follow, he took his family into the basement of his home. Within three weeks, Elder Walker came to his small congregation with an idea, which was to move one step forward into Westside Christian Academy, where we worshipped for one year. The Lord spoke to Elder Walker one more time, telling him, "his purpose was to bring sinners to Christ and save souls" With his congregations continuously growing and with $15,000 in the church treasury, Elder Walker and congregation started to look for a church home to call their own, it didn't take long to find a church home. Once Elder Walker saw the building at 17801 Greeley, he stated "this is our church, the Lord showed me this building." Then he went into the building and it was everything he had prayed and hoped it would be. But we still needed $10,000 within one month in order to get the building. Somehow by faith through prayer and fasting and with the support of our entire membership, friends, family and other organizations. We were able to raise $10,000 in one month and close the deal to start and build our church. Love Joy Church of God in Christ, trusted and we continue to trust in the Lord and we know that through Christ, all things are possible.
Vision:
The Vision of our church is to spread the Gospel across the country. We envision building a Community Center with a Substance Abuse Treatment Program. We also envision building Low Income Housing, A Day Care Center, as well as a Prison Ministry.
