Newport Baptist Church traces its roots to the Great Awakening - it was founded for the purpose of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ both locally and abroad.
Mission:
To bring glory to God by: 1) Seeking the lost; 2) Cultivating mature disciples of Jesus Christ; and, 3) Serving one another and our community
Vision:
To see Christ exalted through service to both our congregation and community.
Purpose:
In order to accomplish our mission, the Newport Baptist Church will strive to do the following: 1. Exalt the Lord through meaningful worship, cf. Ro.15:5-6. 2. Evangelize the lost both locally and abroad, cf. Mt.28:19-20. 3. Edify the church so that spiritual maturity and unity may be attained, cf. Eph.4:14-16. 4. Equip one another through gifted teachers so that the church may grow, cf. Eph.4:11-13. 5. Encourage those who are in spiritual and emotional need, cf. 1Thes.4:18. 6. Exemplify Christian living through faithful obedience to the Scriptures, cf. 1Tim.4:12. 7. Extend our efforts, prayers, and support to missionaries, cf. Phl.4:10-19.
