The year 1963 marked the zenith of membership, with 298 adults and 116 children actively participating in the Protestant church community. Zion Lutheran Church's commitment extended beyond its own congregation. The church's youth group played a pivotal role in establishing seven new protestant Lutheran churches in the Tampa area, including Messiah Lutheran Church, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, St. John's Lutheran Church, St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Land O'Lakes, and Hope Lutheran Church in Plant City.
Mission:
Embracing a broader outreach mission, Zion Lutheran Church actively engaged in ministering to transient populations and supporting refugee resettlement efforts. The church's impact resonated further as it catalyzed the creation of the Tampa Urban Ministry Advisory Council.
