Additional Info About Our Church
Bethel Lutheran Church of Colorado Springs (we usually just refer to it as Bethel) is located 1.5 miles east of the intersection of Academy Boulevard and Austin Bluffs Parkway in Colorado Springs, CO. We are a Bible-based, family friendly, multigenerational congregation of people who love and serve each other, give willingly of our time and treasures, and truly believe we can be a positive change in our world. We believe in the Triune God, the Apostle's Creed, Luther's Small Catechism, and traditional Lutheran values. Sunday morning activities include group worship, adult education classes, and children / youth Sunday School. Confirmation training is a two-year curriculum and meets weekly at the same time as Sunday School. Junior high and senior high youth groups meet weekly for social activities and religious education. We have a heart for the less fortunate. We participate in ministry opportunities in our community such as Partners in Housing, Family Promise, and Hope Kids. We support national and international disaster and relief efforts through programs such as Comfort Makers, Lutheran World Relief, and Feed My Starving Children. We have programs and activities for almost every generation and interest. Bible study groups for men, women, and couples meet regularly throughout the days and evenings of the week. Bethel is a Stephen Ministry congregation. We train lay people to walk beside people going through difficult times. Our purpose is not to solve problems, but to offer support through our prayers and presence. Our Preschool is a vital part of our ministry. The loving teachers nurture and educate toddlers who are one or two years away from kindergarten.
